For all ages and many occasions

Today, around 250 people use Funki regularly. A little more than half are children, and during this year, we hope that the number of adults and children using the instruments will at least double. For everyone’s right to contribute to art and cultural experiences through their own creation!
In addition to making music, the instruments are a powerful tool for increasing active participation, fostering engagement in learning, and providing opportunities for communication and social interaction.
How Funki contributes to a more equitable education and an inclusive cultural life:
- At community arts schools (Kulturskolan): Music lessons become something more people can be a part of.
- At daily activity centres (Daglig verksamhet): Safe, meaningful activities are created where everyone can participate in a social community and build relationships.
- In special education schools (Anpassad skola): Funki helps foster engagement and active participation across several subjects.
Did you know that the Convention on the Rights of the Child is Swedish law?
“Children have the right to contribute to art and cultural experiences through their own creation.”
Since 2020, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child has been Swedish law. It states that children and young people must have the opportunity to take part in cultural life, be involved, and influence its development.
The City of Stockholm highlights in its programme for children’s right to culture that children with disabilities often do not get the same opportunities to participate in cultural activities. This is a challenge we take very seriously, and it is precisely why Funki exists.
Thank you for following our work and being part of the journey toward making education and creative expression accessible to more people.
Best regards, Funki
